Nearly March already

I can’t believe it’s nearly March already, the time seems to be flying by at the moment and I’ve almost lost track of what’s happened the last few weeks. Somewhere along the lines I’ve been running my Dungeons and Dragons campaign with varying degrees of success (it gets rather complicated when I have to create […]

Exam results

I got my third year first semester exam results yesterday, unfortunately they’re not very good but there’s nothing I can do about that now. Here’s what I got, in ascending order of marks: Theory of Games and Game Models (35%): Technically I failed this module, although I think the university rules mean that I pass […]

Conferences and Aikido

Future of Web Apps conference I was down in London for the The Future of Web Apps conference/summit on Wednesday, where everyone got terribly excited about this Web 2.0 stuff (I loathe the phrase Web 2.0, along with Blogosphere, but unfortunately it seems to have slipped into common use on the web). The whole day […]

Valentine’s day meme

Via Foxe, with corrections for the appalling spelling and grammar of whoever initially wrote the meme: 1. Are you single, taken, dating? Single. 2. Do you have a date for Valentine’s day? Not as far as I’m aware. 3. If so, what are you doing? n/a 4. If not what would you want to do? […]

Where to from here?

I’ve been worrying about work and jobs for a while, but with several people I know talking about it a fair amount it’s started to move gradually to the front of my mind. I keep getting asked what I’m going to do when I graduate and the problem is that I still have absolutely no […]

Fear of Girls

Fear of Girls on Google Video. This is absolutely hilarious, although some of the jokes (e.g. “You want mercy?! Shattered

The last few days have been pretty hectic, exams are still going (one tomorrow morning and another on Tuesday). Friday featured a horrible databases exam in the afternoon, but I’ll reflect on that once all the exams are out of the way. After the exam I went to see Fun with Dick and Jane with […]

Stand up and be counted

Today’s inspiration, via Start-Up Guide: If you stand up and be counted, from time to time you may get yourself knocked down. But remember this: A man flattened by an opponent can get up again. A man flattened by conformity stays down for good. Thomas J. Watson (Founder of IBM)

I want to be a Broadway producer

New Year’s Eve Last week’s events were a bit less hectic than 2004’s version, although I think that was down in part to me not having to worry about getting the house ready and having various (non-)alcoholic beverages available for consumption. The evening started off with most of the remaining members of Warped heading off […]

New Year’s Resolutions

I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions, mainly because I can rarely think of something worthwhile to aim for that I’m not already working on, but also because I doubt I’ll stick to the goals I set. This year I’ve decided to give it a go though, so here are my resolutions/goals for 2006: Have […]
