Google not as geek-friendly as you might think

I recently tried logging into my Google Adsense account that I use for serving ads on some of my sites. Now I don’t know why, but for some reason it has stopped working in Mozilla Firefox and won’t let me login. I was a little miffed about this, seeing as it worked in Internet Explorer and it’s only a very simple form, so I fired across an email to Adsense Support asking what the problem was. Their reply:

“We appreciate your taking the time to bring this issue to our attention. Unfortunately, we cannot provide support for browsers such as Mozilla Firefox 0.8 that are pre-release products at this time.”

This is coming from the company who is supposed to be at the cutting edge of search engine technology. If they can’t even get a simple login form to work across browsers (even I can manage that) I can’t really have much confidence in the rest of their site. What’s next – the main search form breaking?
