Six favourite songs

List your current six favourite-ish songs, then pick six other people that have to do the same.

As usual, this is all Kate’s fault. 😛

Anyway, in no particular order here are the songs that I’m currently listening to the most and/or I consider to be classics:

  1. Here I Go AgainWhitesnake (great driving song)
  2. Build Me Up ButtercupThe Foundations (amazing how this song seems to get everyone on the dance floor)
  3. One WeekBarenaked Ladies (love the fast pace and the chorus)
  4. Dancing QueenABBA (classic song)
  5. I’ll Be There For YouThe Rembrandts (very upbeat song)
  6. Rock DJRobbie Williams (great song in general)

There’s lots of potentials that I’ve missed off the list though, choosing six was difficult. As for tagging let’s see what Jennie, Justine, Kirk, Lewis, Lizzy and Rachel make of this.

(Feel free to fill this in via the comments if I haven’t tagged you.)

  1. I like all but one of those songs.

I wonder how many of my top six you like? I think one maybe 🙂

Listen to “Build me up Buttercup” and “Tongue Tied”. Notice the similarities?

PS. You don’t drive. Do you?

  2. I don’t think I’ve actually ever heard any of your top six.

I don’t drive, but I grew up listening to “driving classics” whenever my Dad took me to school and got there early, so I kind of like that sort of music. Plus I’m hoping to learn to drive this summer, although I can’t afford the insurance so I imagine I’ll get a licence and then sit around for two years until I can afford to buy a car and insure it.

  3. I don’t think I’ve actually ever heard any of your top six.

I’ll have to play some of them to you then…

  4. Favourite tunes I’m listening to at the moment?

    1. Four Kicks – Kings of Leon
    2. Norweigian Wood (This Bird has Flown) – The Beatles
    3. Lyla – Oasis
    4. Let there be Love – Oasis
    5. Perspective – Kevin Mark Trial
    6. I am the Resurrection – Stone Roses.

I was going to say a good mix of tunes but they are pedominately indie apart from Kevin Mark Trial who is a great singer/song writer.

  5. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of any of those. I’m so out of touch when it comes to music after the mid-90s. 🙂

  6. Come on!!
Kings of Leon tune is off their new album. Great album too I might add. t’s my ring tone for my mobile too!
The beatles tune I don’t think you’d know. It’s not one of there huge hits but it’s the sort of one that beatles fans know cos they’d know their stuff.
The Oasis songs are off their new album. Great stuff.
Kevin Mark trial is not well known. He’s a reggae/rnb singer from London. he was supporting N*E*R*D when I went to watch them. He’s good and I hope he hits the big time soon.
if you go for nights out in Manchester though you should know the Stones song. It’s been played every time I’ve been to 42nd street and is a true classic tune.

  7. I don’t tend to go to places in the city centre in Manchester – I can only remember going to 42nd Street once and I’ve never been in 5th Avenue. I’m usually further south, towards Fallowfield, because it’s generally quieter and now that the students have all gone home there should be no queues at the bar either. 🙂
