Links

Only people I know in real life or whose blogs I read on a regular basis are listed here; links to my other favourite sites can be found on Rixort. Links are added in a more or less random order, just because someone is higher up the page it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re more important. :)

Local(ish) friends

In the mind of jennie b – Jennie works down south in Oxford for Corporate Watch, and was Welfare Officer at our glorious students’ union for a year.

My Year in Nowhere – Warped’s illustrious prez of 2003/4, Justine is now back in Manchester. Despite having views at opposite ends of the political spectrum, we’ve managed to avoid strangling one another so far.

Ugh – Another Warped (ex-)regular, David is also a hiker and keeps trying to convince me that walking through waist-high snow is fun.

Piscis cadaver – Ex-Compsoc admin who has migrated down south, Cez is almost as bad at pool as I am (but not quite)

Maybe Katie – One of those people who gets along with everyone (yes, even me);, ‘Canadian’ Kate excels at making all sorts of clothing. She’s also a good dancer and a total chatterbox.

talktodan.com – Dan is a good friend from Holy Cross College, and a fellow computer science graduate (although he went to Lancaster University). His site doesn’t have a blog, but there’s plenty of amusing drunken pictures to keep you entertained.

krn.me.uk – Another escapee from the lunatic asylum (err, I mean fellow CS graduate ;), Kirk wasn’t quite insane enough to take pure CS so got out of it by doing some Business Management modules as well.

Bleh – Insane enough to have shared a house with me, Rachel works at Odeon cinema.

Faraway people

amphigory – Ex-UA sysop and another ex-Compsoc admin, Jason is studying for a MSc in Military Operational Research, which sounds far more exciting than my degree course.

Altered Sky – Apple advocate and crazy cat lover, Lorry introduced me to the joys of accessing IRC via irssi running in a screen client.

Majesty – SongMeanings’ legendary moderator, Idan keeps pending lyrics and artist lists under control and keeps trying to convert me from Firefox to Opera.

My other sites

I own far too many domains (twenty one at the current count), but here’s what I’m doing with some of them:

Data Circle – Collaborative weblog covering the latest in technology news, with several regular authors presenting their views on the headline stories as well as the ability for members to comment and post their own news.

Font Planet – Distribution site for free fonts, without the usual pop up and flash ads that plague many other sites offering this kind of material.

Politics Watch – My commentary on UK political events and news.

Rixort – My main personal site, containing tutorials, computing tips, code and anything else I’m working on. Hasn’t been updated for a while but I’m working on it.
